ahh, egg's on my face There go my chances of any link-love from you folks. =)

I actually do read Stereogum and it can be quite good. I'm just immensely jealous of the attention your site gets - how's that for the truth? And to explain a bit, I got into an Pitchfork argument with a friend who's musical opinion I respect and admire quite a bit. In fact, he's the one who got me into indie music. But lately, he's been (at least I think) waffling in the other direction. And he basically said, "I don't even bother to read the other music blogs, just get the gist of things on Pitchfork and Stereogum, and that's all you need. Everything else I can't be bothered with, because my time is precious. The best indie music rises to the top anyhow." WTF!? He knows I run a small music blog myself! I thought that was insensitive.

So I've been taking it out on any popular music blog, whether or not it's justified or not and whether or not the blog is actually any good. I mean, I've really worked hard on this blog, and it seems that anytime I try to make any friends with any other indie music blog that's popular, they pretty much blow me off. I guess this is pretty much falling on deaf ears, since I'm well aware of the hypocritical parallels with me blowing off many of the "smaller unknown artists" lately. I KNOW a bigger blog has no time to respond to every single email. And yet, that doesn't mean I like it. And so, this blog has become a bit personal as a way to blow off some of that steam. If it can't be popular, well at least I can say whatever the hell I want.
